Glutamate dehydrogenase (GLDH, EC1.4.1.2) is an enzyme present in the mitochondrial matrix of cells that can convert glutamate into α- Ketoglutaric acid can also catalyze reverse reactions. GLDH is a type of allosteric enzyme that is produced in the body through reactions such as oxidative dehydrogenation, transamination, co dehydrogenation, and non oxidative dehydrogenation, among which co dehydrogenation is the most important.

Application

 

Glutamate dehydrogenase (GLDH) is used for in vitro quantitative determination of the content and activity of glutamate dehydrogenase in biological samples such as serum, plasma, urine, liver tissue, other body fluids, etc.

1. Liver function test kit
Purpose: To detect GLDH activity in serum and evaluate liver function.
Clinical significance: GLDH mainly exists in the mitochondria of liver cells, and when liver cells are damaged, GLDH is released into the bloodstream. Therefore, GLDH activity in serum can serve as a marker of liver cell damage. Commonly used for detecting and evaluating various liver diseases, such as acute and chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, liver cancer, etc.

2. Bacterial infection detection kit
Usage: Used for detecting Clostridium difficile infection.
Clinical significance: Clostridium difficile can produce GLDH, and detecting GLDH activity can serve as a marker for Clostridium difficile infection. GLDH testing is often combined with other testing methods, such as toxin testing, to improve diagnostic accuracy. Commonly used for the diagnosis of hospital acquired infections and antibiotic associated diarrhea.

Product Performance

 

1.Specificity: GLDH diagnostic enzymes have high specificity and only catalyze specific substrate reactions. Highly specific enzymes reduce non-specific reactions and improve the accuracy of detection. GLDH has high specificity for the substrate L-glutamic acid and can catalyze its oxidative deamination reaction, producing α - ketoglutarate and ammonia.

2.Reversibility: The reaction catalyzed by GLDH is reversible, and α - ketoglutaric acid can be reduced to glutamic acid in the presence of NAD (P) H.

3.Applicability: GLDH diagnostic enzyme is suitable for various detection methods, such as colorimetric method, fluorescence method, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
