Human Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin (NGAL) Assay
Neutrophilgelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) Assay
Cat# Abt-R-402
Human neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), also known as Lipocalin-2, is a new member of the lipid transport protein family and is a biomarker of early renal impairment. For example, during ischaemic and toxic kidney injury, NGAL will be significantly increased in renal tubular epithelial cells, and within the first two hours, NGAL levels will be significantly increased in urine and blood, making NGAL one of the most effective biological markers for the diagnosis of acute kidney injury. Studies have also shown elevated serum concentrations of NGAL in patients with angina pectoris and acute myocardial infarction.
Principle: The measurement principle is based on the latex immunoturbidimetric method, in which the human neutrophil gelatinase-associated apolipoprotein in the sample combines with the anti-human neutrophil gelatinase-associated apolipoprotein antibody in the reagent to form an insoluble immune complex, resulting in turbidity of the reaction solution, which is measured at 540nm and its turbidity is proportional to the concentration of human neutrophil gelatinase-associated apolipoprotein in the sample. The turbidity is proportional to the concentration of human neutrophil gelatinase-associated ApoE in the sample.
Storage conditions and expiry date
1. Reagents are stable for 12 months when stored at 2-8°C, sealed and protected from light.
2. Reagents that have been opened should be stored in an instrument compartment (2-8°C) for 30 days to avoid contamination.
