Introduction to ACES

As a type of biological buffer, its primary application is undoubtedly as a pH stabilizer. Many biological reactions occur under neutral pH conditions, and the pH range of ACES is precisely between 6.1 and 7.5. It forms complexes with most metal ions, so it is commonly used in specific biochemical experiments. As ACES does not produce toxicity to cells, it can also be used in cell culture.

Production and manufacturing methods of ACES

1. Preparation materials: The materials to be prepared include chloroacetamide, taurine, and 95% ethanol. The experimental equipment requires the use of a three necked flask, condenser tube, cylindrical funnel, suction bottle, Buchner funnel, stirrer, vacuum dryer, 9cm qualitative filter paper, CDR-1 differential thermal analyzer, PE580-B infrared spectroscopy analyzer, etc.

2. Production method: Reflux a certain amount of aqueous mixture of chloroacetamide and taurine, and adjust the reaction solution to a certain pH value. After the reaction is completed, cool the reaction solution and adjust it to acidity to obtain white crystals in an alcohol solution, with a yield of 65%~70%. After recrystallization, a white product is obtained, which is dried and crushed in a vacuum dryer to obtain the finished ACES.
