TRIS hydrochloride, also known as trihydroxymethylaminomethane hydrochloride, is a salt form formed by the reaction of trihydroxymethylaminomethane (TRIS) with hydrochloric acid. Its CAS number is 1185-53-1. The appearance is a white crystalline powder that is easily soluble in water. Compared with TRIS, the aqueous solution of TRIS hydrochloride is weakly acidic or nearly neutral, and can be directly used to prepare buffer systems without the need for additional acid adjustment. In practical applications, TRIS hydrochloride is often used in combination with TRIS, and the two can be mixed in different proportions to obtain a stable buffer solution with a pH range of 7.0 to 9.0. It is widely used for pH maintenance in nucleic acid electrophoresis, protein electrophoresis, and various biochemical experiments. Application

Tris HCl is used for protein crystal growth under different pH conditions. The low ionic strength of Tris HCL buffer can be used to form the intermediate fibers of the chemicalbook of the lamin of C. elegans. Tris HCl is also one of the main components of protein electrophoresis buffer. In addition, Tris HCL is also an intermediate for preparing surfactants, vulcanization accelerators, and some drugs. Tris HCl is also used as a titration standard.

A Tris HCl buffer solution with a concentration of 6.057g/L and pH=8.8 was prepared by adjusting the pH value of Chemicalbook using trihydroxymethylaminomethane hydrochloride as the solute and deionized water as the solvent.
